Originally from China, Shan Li received her BSc in Chemical Engineering and MSc and PhD in Pulp & Papermaking Engineering from Nanjing Forestry University from China, supervised by Professor Hongqi Dai and Professor Xingmao Jiang. After graduation, she joined the faculty of the School of Petrochemical Engineering at Changzhou University and is now an assistant professor.

Her research interests include inorganic-organic composite materials for water treatment and electrochemistry, nano/micro polymer emulsions for multifunctional applications, synthesis and modification of water-soluble polymers, and silica-containing nanoparticles or carriers for the controlled release of drugs or functional reagents. I’m very excited to start as a visiting scholar in Webster Nanomedicine Lab at Northeastern University (Boston) focusing on composites consist of iron oxide and the other functional substances for antibacterial applications.
