BIOGRAPHY

Originally from China, Ming Gao received his B.SC. in Marine Biology from Shanghai Ocean University. After graduation in 2011, he continued to pursue his dual-master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences and information technology at Northeastern University working on metallic nanoparticles, such as nanorods, nanospheres and nanostars, as well as biodegradable nano hydroxyapatite-bacterial cellulose for bone tissue engineering applications. He is now a second year Ph.D. student co-adviced by Dr. Thomas Webster and Dr. Steve Lustig, focusing on developing self-assembled anti-bacterial nano peptide amphiphiles and computational modeling to understand the mechanism of their antibacterial properties using COSMOmic, and further rational design of new building blocks for bacteria killing applications.
